My group has been brainstorming the plan on a marketing campaign for a female pop artist. Our artist's name will be Reyn, that sounds like rain as in water drops, but is spelt differently to make it cool. Playing along with this artist's name, she will have a logo of a raindrop with an R in the center to put on her merch. Using this logo, transforms her line of merch into a more unisex style in order to appeal to a broader audience other than just young woman. Our artists color palette will be blue as the color of rain and yellow to add that pop aesthetic.
Pop Music listeners usually consist of a younger audience. For this reason, we will put a lot of focus on Rayns social media presence. Increasing her presence on social media is a fundamental step towards attracting younger generations that spend a lot of their time online into her fanbase. Her social media feeds will consist of content in blue and cool tones to go along with her brands theme. In addition, she will post relatable content such as Goofy pictures. By uploading this relatable content and showing this unfiltered, messy side of hers can help make her more relatable. Having this relatable characteristic makes her fans feel as if she's a real, genuine person, which also makes them feel as if they have a stronger connection with her.
When purchasing reigns merch, we discussed the idea of donating 5% of the profit to the Water is Life charity. Having this movement shows that she is an individual who cares about the environmental and social problems happening within global communities. In addition, we chose the Water is Life charity because of the fact that it plays along with the image we want to relate Reyn to. Having this donation to a charity from purchasing her merch also strategically convinces people to purchase more of her merch. My group came up with the idea of making stickers with Reyns logo with a QR code underneath that takes the scanner to her new song. These stickers can be passed out at any event where she will be performing. In addition, five of these stickers will be included in every merch order packaging in order to make the spread of her music more effective. With this sticker strategy, people will be passing around stickers to their friends and placing them in public areas, leading to curious people scanning the stickers and discovering our new pop artist Reyn.
